mission statement
| |
I take teaching piano very seriously and consider it my responsibility to guide the musical development of my students so that they can develop their full potential. I believe that in order for my students to have direction in their studies, that I must have goals in my teaching. It is important that you know and understand my teaching goals before beginning study with me.
My teaching focuses on three goals:
1. First and foremost, I provide the tools that students need so that they can teach themselves.
2. Secondly, I want my students’ to develop their full potential as musicians.
3. Lastly, I strive to nurture a love of music in al my students.
In order for me to keep my students interested in music and provide the best music education that I can, I believe that I must continuously improve myself as a teacher. I am constantly reviewing music literature, researching method books, reading major professional teaching journals and playing pieces for my students that I am learning. In addition, I communicate with other colleagues to gather teaching ideas and inspiration. You can spend a lifetime learning about music, but there will always be more to learn. This is what excites me about the field and why I plan to continue learning and teaching for many more years.
